Why not go all the way and equalize the weapons, too? If I hit your shield with a 5 foot axe, it is broken. If you block my polehammer with your sword, it is broken. I doubt any Archiver will demand you fight from your knees. Be aware that the general SCA population might. I've encounted some odd reactions sometimes. Modify a $1000 helm, or a $5.00 arrow.

It really IS that simple. I mean... if the powers that be in the SCA decided that some one needed to modify their $1200 Knotwolf helm to accomodate the archers, as opposed to having the arrows modified, I'd say they'd gone daft :).

It shows me that I, someone with decades of combat training, who's had a sword in his hand since 5, been trained by some of the best of the SCA, best of the mounted knights of the lands can be bested by a levied serf or commoner if I am unaware ...
