Hi there, that is interesting, but it seems like it takes about half the fun out of it. :0) I like armor you can see. It would be neat to see the armor up close, was there any closup pics? or did I miss them?

Hi there
Hi there, That sounds good but id make the brass part removable, so you could take if off while fighting and put it on for show. You could use screw backed studs and it would still look nice. Just a thought, it would be a shame to dent it up and not be able to get at the bottom side to repair it als...

Hi there
Hi there, Welcome to the Archive. My recomendation to the beginning or part time armorer is to get the Harbor Freight Throatless Shear that Halberds mentioned. Its 80 dollars and works decent, after you weld the handle on and bolt the blades on with locknuts. They cut up to 14g mild steel just fine....

Hi
Hi ID, No problem, Hey is that welded at the top just below the head? If it is Id say it was an old post vise that broke, and the blacksmith made a new tool out of the post.

Hi there, Actually, A bick horn or bick iron, is always a smaller horn that mounts to your anvil or stump as far as ive ever seen. Theres an example of one at the base of the 350 lb anvil thats just to the left of the Beakhorn Stake. What you have there is a Beakhorn Stake, (Pexto 920?) about 40 inc...

Rolling a bead in leather
Hi guys, Last week I learned that you can use your bead roller to roll beads in leather. Heres a pic of some 8 oz leather I ran through. It makes a nice looking border and actually raises a small bead in it. Give it a try if you have a roller sometime.

Hey Norman, I mean there have been aholes throughout history, and we should all try not to be one of them I figure. Are you saying all knights were no good? Or just trying to focus on the ugly part? Even if chivalry was fictional is that any reason we should not strive to achieve it? PS, thank you E...
