Howdy Mattmaus, Yes really :0) The @#%@#@ thing wanted to turn in to a taco shape most of the time instead of a dish shape. I finally had to do the roll around the edge to freeze it up, then finish the shaping. It was amazing how much the brass border strengthened the whole thing also. Turned out ok...

Hi Steve, A sawhorse works great for a mount on these, just lag screw the shear to one, stable and moveable. I made one out of a large beam cuttoff I had shown below, but a normal sized horse works great also.

Hi there,
Hi there, I agree with Schreiber. The next set of Mittens I build for SCA use will have a solid thumb designed on them. I tried to build the set above like historical ones (except for the flare on the cuff instead of a roll) Thumbs bend backwards too easily so the thumb armor should not. Thank you P...

Hi there, This is my first try at brass trim on armor. Is there anyway to attatch the brass to the aluminum without rivets? One rivet in the center makes it look like a nipple and not a sun, rivets around the edge make it look like boob too. What should I use? Glue, Epoxy? I notced theres alot of fi...
