Hi there

Hi there Hrolf, Yes I use pop rivets on the plastic armor normally, yes they dont look as nice as domes but they are strong and fast. Id have to charge alot more for the gaunts if I had to try to hand set all the rivets in them. A set with pop rivets takes me all day to make, a set with steel domes ...

Hi there

Hi there Sha-ul, Thank you. I saw a while back a post that said how to blacken steel plates and Ive been wanting to try it. I think it said you just add peanut or wesson oil to the plates and cook them in the oven. Id love to give this a try sometime if you didnt mind being my first project at it. I...

Hi there

Hi there, thanks for the interest I think the Plastic Mitten gauntlets offer excelent coverage, wont soften like leather, wont dent or rust, but protects like steel and they dont weigh anything. The plastic is super tuff and outperforms steel and leather by far, Armor All or WD-40 make it look like ...

Hi there

Hi there Sha-ul, It looks to me like you need to attatch the knees to the cuisses is all. I use 2 rivets and get a little articulation out of the cuisse because I use a 3 pc knee, but with your 5 pc knees there you could just rivet them up solid and it would work fine I think. The bottom of your cui...

Hi there

Howdy, Valid points on both sides here. All Im going to say is that it is tuff for an armorer to figure out when an order will be done when its 3 or more months out unless your a master, and its obvious I am not, the time I tell them is a rough estimate. I tell customers this on my website and try t...

Howdy Clay, Ask for a refund if you want, it should be no big deal. Demanding a refund is not recomended though and neither are threats of going to the FTA err SPCA or whatever. (I know you wouldnt do that but it was mentioned in this thread I think) I find that if someone remains polite with me and...

Hi there

Hi there, the other day I was needing to cool down some welded stuff and dipped it in an open pan of anti-freeze. I was thinking this was a good thing as I hate to dip bare steel in water and the antifreeze wont rust it. I also noticed that the antifreeze cooled the material down waaaay slower than ...

Hi there, Yes the Harbor Freight shear is what you need as your watching ebay over the next year or so. They work just fine after you weld the handle on and bolt the blades on better. Beverly shears are very hard to win on Ebay normally. Id get a HF one and sell it when you finally get a decent deal...
