Ok thank you for the info guys. I can temper and aneal steel, I knew oil was used for a slower quench and wondered if anti freeze would be used for the same or similar things. Ill stay off the anti freeze and stick to water.

Hi there, Id set the rivets from inside, any marks made by misses will not matter then. I think Sean has it right about the wooden form also. Log+sawzall+angle grinder=good shaped leather I think. Good luck

No problem Jiri no problem. The lower blade is 4.1/4 inches, the upper one is 4 5/8 inches, and the unused overlap in the open position is about 1 1/8 inch. Hope this helps.
