No worries Matt thanks for your time. That was the first time I tried anealing the belly area, It did give me a better stomach shape with this pattern but not as much as I thought. I cant wait to try all these ideas out on my next globose cuirass.

Easy to make Oblong Leather Punch
Hi guys, I made this 3/4 inch oblong leather punch out of an air hammer bit and some 14g steel. Heat the 14g red, wrap around bit, weld, sharpen, punch. Hope someone can use this idea it seems to work great.

Nice Hal, those will be neat when done. Was that spring steel you tried first? Ive never tried any of that, Stainless is tuff enougn for me. I like the idea of raising the rivet area to provide a gap on the lames. Cant wait for more pics keep up the good work.
