Hi, Use a single bit Axe head in a vice for a fluting stake. Get a cheap dead blow hammer for cold raising, Weld a trailer hitch to any hammer to make a dishing hammer with a nice deep reach, Get a brass hammer,

Nice Greaves. even if you dont have alot of metal skills you can just hold em in place on you, Mark and trim, then use leather to hinge.

OK. Back from the shop. Checked about 12 random helms. Even the helms with mirror polish do not measure less than a half gauge difference from the starting materials. So 12 gauge top measures between 12 and 13 after dishing and polishing. 14 gauge helms were between 14 and 15 gauge in some places. ...
