New Gorget
This is my first articulated gorget. It moves with my neck very well, but it there anyway to help the lames return to an extended condition. After I look down, it wants to keep looking down. but that may also be fixed when I add the back half. Thoughts? http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/yy124/Ckani...

try welding a quarter inch of the stock onto each side, anneal, grind down a bit, and then try to make the hole and rivet. just a thought.

Re: BEGINNER reference pages
I had something like this I would give to people looking to buy stuff off me, I would have the drawing labeled like you do, but on a second, or on the back side, I would have the price list, so that you could only see one at a time. It helps them from going into sticker shock, or at least that I've ...

Re: Holder for angle grinder
I would mount it 90 degrees and mount it as close as possible to the bench to make it more sturdy. and I would swap out the grinding disk for a heavy grit flap disk for what your doing. IMHO.

Knightly necklace
Are there any rules associated with making a knight's necklace or is it more or less anything that I want? I've been watching the Tudors lately and many things about it have piqued my intrest, stylisticly. How historically acurate are the clothes and armour? Also is there any evidance of a necklace ...

Re: Gaggle of Greathelms
Not anymore. But I did when I was that age. I have a few permanent dents in the front of my skull that spurred me into making armour... instead of sticks we used the ribs from an old mattress for swords... good analoug, but very bad to be on the recieving end... like I said, those kids are lucky.

If I were you I would curtail the gorget shortly after where you have the hinges placed. otherwise It will be a huge pain to put the thing on, and also where does the gorget open up? I can't wait till you have this thing finished! You have a real talent!!

Re: Gauntlet gloves
Rub a little bit of leather lotion on your hands, put on the gaunts, put them through their range of motion a few times, take them off. Rinse and repeat about half a dozen times or so untill the gloves feel nice and supple. Do this a day or two before an event so that the gloves feel like new when y...

lifting the patina off brass
I have an art show tonight and I'm entering an all brass rose that I made a while back. My question is is there anyway to lift the patina off the petals so that they shine bright, like when I first made it? I do like how the rest f it looks with the patina on it, I just want to highlight the petals....
