Zeth, there is no such thing as a final attempt. It's just the next big new project. And you will make mistakes on it and you will learn and you will be 100000000 times more critical of yourself than anyone else will.

Aesthetically, I like the hoodie, maille, flip-flop combo you got going on there! :mr.green:

You could heat it up and dip it in old motor oil, then torch it. And as long as the leather's treated VERY well, you shouldn't really have any problems

Nah, you're good. I'd just try to increase the spray to morning and evening if possible, especially if the humidity is as low by you as up by me. (Wait, you are in Florida. It's never not humid. nevermind) No point in rigging up automated spray systems. If you ever get the desire to re-do the test ...

Re: Dusting off the cobwebs

Mac, one thing that I've never understood is when we are fluting. Why do we flute the individual pieces separately then assemble and then see our mistakes as opposed to flute in the whole thing at once meaning everything attached as we do it to make 1pass of the entire unit and our lines will line u...

Re: Questions about Rivets

1) I have been screwed over by Centaur Forge before and I would always avoid the place if you could. 2) they do not really eat away at each other. The aluminum acts as a sacrificial anode for the steel. Either way I would avoid them as best as you could. Over time they do weaken.

Well now that the shape seems incorrect. You can learn as much from bad repros as you can from originals. Sort of a don't do this any why. Why does it seem incorrect? What makes it feel 'off'?

Welcome to the Archive Kaber! There is no real "hard evidence" but if you were to look at different pictures from various combat manuals, you can get a pretty good gauge for mobility, though I'm not sure if any exist for Jousting.

Open it slowly with an awl and you could sew a bit around it if you wanted to. I've never had a problem with just pushing a rivet through and peening it over though.

Re: Dusting off the cobwebs

It makes sense when metal is in short and difficult supply, but I'm more of the mind that they would do it with templates. 1) it's easier to imagine, and thus less mistakes can be made once you have a reliable pattern 2) it takes out a time consuming step, which makes the whole enterprise faster, wh...
