Re: What patterns do people want to see in a pattern archive

Yeah. It got me that start I have now. Without the Pattern Archive, I would have never stuck around on this wonderful site and met all you amazing nutters! I think it's about time to give it some TLC. Btw I know this would take up a bunch of JT's time, so I'd like to give him a bit of a thank you fo...

Re: Breaths in a Visor - Is this Decent or just Crazy?

Go for it! But why limit yourself to just vertical? Why not have the slots curved or flaired? Make it decorative as well as functional. It would do three things like that, give you more air and light, wouldn't limit view to shots coming at you in any specific direction, and would just look plaion sw...

Re: Canadian Army Kabutos

To me it looks like a great idea, but it also looks like it could use a lot more work. Making the mandable more form fitting, have some sort of jugglar protection as was mentioned above and so on, just small things that I noticed really. Honestly I believe that they should move more into the scfi re...

Re: Clone Trooper armor?

I want to make it as durable as possible. My idea is to make it so that I could go paintballing in it. Climb trees dive through doorways even some light grappling. Plastic and fiberglass wouldn't stand up to that kind of punishment. Most of the harder wearing areas are going to been steel, nothing h...

Re: Finger-gauntlets question: fingers construction opinion

I think if you have the first and last finger gound on the weapon, the middle two should do fine with just upper protection, but then again you could always go forward with with a bifurcated design as mentioned above

Wade, I have always been a fan of those! They give great protection while maintaining what seems to be reasonable motion as I see how it would work. Sean, in those pics, what was that tab behind the thumb used for? Support for the cross guard?

Hidden Ideas

I'm planning on making a suit of armour that can be *mostly* hidden under modern clothes. I'm going to be using it to teach a friend some differint things. Anyway, I'm planning on making the limbs splinted, a low profile CoP, Wispy guants. How thick should I make the splints, and what weight of leat...

Re: Stylish good bye :-) 14th cent gauntlets

You take money for tickets. Lets say $5.00 per ticket. You have the cause you want to support listed. Then at the end of a time, like a lottery, you draw a winner. The winner takes half of the pot and you keep the other half for what you want to support. Lets say you want to support your shop. Phras...
