a friend of mine built his own cnc plasma, his table is only 3' 6" by 6' 6" and he can cut 1/2" plate controlled by a PC. I think the table etc cost him less than 5oo uk pounds to make using linear guides and structural aluminium sections and a few stepper motors and he added a normal...

I frequently use a grinder clamped in a vice, a bosch 4 1/2" with paralel sides and it is held firmly between the bottom of the vice and the underside of the jaws

I get inspired by others but make things from stuff I find in junkyards, if others can find the same good luck to them.

not an authentic wax but hard, adhesive and tough.

I think babbitt would also cost a lot but cant find prices when I looked.
how about the alloy used for wheel balancing weights, it is harder than lead ( the clip on ones not the flat stick on ones ) and tyre fitters throw tham out by the bucketfull here.
