Kult of Athena Review

Just ordered a pack of 1,000 round mild steel maille from Kult of Athena on Thursday...and I s**t you not, it arrived today (Saturday). That is a day and a half shipment from halfway across the united states via the cheapest shipping they offer. Very, very impressive. And the rings are in great shap...

Kult of Athena has it for quite cheap. Their prices did go up about $10 when I last looked though.

Have you tried placing a piece of steel pipe around the thinner rattan to keep it from flexing the whole length? Of course it would only be long enough to go down to the top of the handle....just wrap tape around the bottom of the pipe to secure it.
my 2 cents.

Gotta say Viking and Girl Kill You are awesome. I will promise that I would buy one for my wife and I if you make these. (And I agree with the others, I would have a large appeal outside of the SCA too)

P.S.
Thanks for making my day!

Will wear it for wars and such. 2) Improve my shots to the offside Success! Working on the pell has done wonders for my offside shots. I still fail to throw them a...

This is the hidden armour style I wear. It is very protective and very easy to make. I don't think it will work well on someone with a large belly, or a woman with large "Tracts of land" without modification. Quick instructions I threw together. http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx277/oni_saken/hid...

Leoric1958 Finger Gauntlet Review PIC HEAVY

After struggling between the protective but clumsy nature of clamshell gauntlets, and the dexterous but ultimately un-protective form of Lacrosse gloves, I finally had enough of spending money on hand protection that was only partially satisfying my needs for SCA heavy combat. So I decided to attemp...

Zen Warrior sells very sturdy hoods made of cotton denim that go under the mask. They are in a range of sizes that match the sizes of the masks they sell. Darkwood also sells cotton hoods. The only caveat I have about Gypsy Peddler is that I believe that their hoods are made of 4 layers of trigger ...

Get some tan conveyor belt. The kind that looks like a cat's tongue made of rubber. Cheap as dirt, easy to attatch (I use Shoe Goo...it is $2 at Walmart), and it last forever.

Re: How much does you armour weigh?

Since I do a Dark Ages kit, most of my stuff is hidden plastic. The plastic altogether weighs around 4lbs I believe, maybe a bit less, but the Valsgarde helm is between 8-10lbs, and my chainmail is roughly 20-25lbs. That makes a kit of 39lbs at the most and 30lbs at the least. This obviously goes d...

Would a good norseman warrior really be out there in a linen tunic? Swete, as far as removing the plastic goes... it's plastic. And when a new guy is watching me get my armor on, or a mundane walking through at the start of practice sees me putting on a pile of plastic, we all lose out on 'cool historical' points. Dmitriy, those pants are much better proportioned t...

Boom! Got a pic for ya! It is the Gutenstein Warrior (ceremonial garb?) from one of the Vendel helm plates. You can clearly see he is holding a sword away from his body, but also note the long seax at his side, apparently hanging straight down from his belt, possibly from a loop? It is far too long ...
