First off, you are paying too much by shopping there! Go to Kult of Athena Here is their price for the Hanwei practical hand and a half (a very popular sparring sword) http://www.kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=SH2106&name=Hanwei+Practical+Hand+and+a+Half+Sword+%2D+5th+Generation Trust me, g...

Re: Longseax Sheath/Hanger Construction/Attachment

I have read that the alternate name for a Langseax was Theoseax, or "Thigh-Seax". Interpretations of this have been leaning towards a seax too long to wear across the front like normal, instead having to wear it like a sword: from a baldric or a belt and being hung vertically. I don't have any pics ...

But with that logic, future generations could look back at Robert Rodríguez movies and insist that guns 'back in the day' really could blow people back 20ft. Or that assasins could 'curve' bullets ;) The artist, in whichever medium, is merely demonstrating a fantasized extreme in order to put heroic...

Re: Plastic Coat of Plates question.

My source for cheap plastic barrels is to ask the local car washes. They get their soap and waxes in them, in both white, semi-clear, blue, and sometimes black. And obviously they use quite a few of them. Some will keep them for free, but even if they ask for a fee, it is not usually more than $10 ...

Re: Will the BoTN change the SCA:s HF game?

When will we just accept the armor standard is a fantasy, and that it is actually clothing and a padded coif. Sigh. Personally I think we should just get rid of the idea altogether because what people actually wear isn't standard across the board anyway, and replace it with language that reflects l...

I really love unsupported assertions like this. Exactly what evidence do you have for this blanket statement? I am aware of some experiments - half-baked as they were - the results of which dramatically contradict your assertion. Got any backing for the bold statement? http://www.myarmoury.com/feat...

What I keep thinking of is, if good looking youth combat helms are so rare, and the wear and tear is low, then any nice youth helm made would be re-saleable for near the original cost later, right?
