Hjalmr,
Will you please write peoples' AA names and email addresses next to their real names in your receipt book?
You post stuff like this all the time and it's a hassle for everybody.
Quit being lazy; get it together.
And have a merry Christmas.

AvM: Nah. I made a helm liner and it kills the ring in the rest of the helm (drilling the holes for the chinstrap and the liner helped). Thanks, though.

Helmet's GRILL ringing
Hey guys. Just picked up a wicked nice Munitions Bascinet from Ironmonger. I'm drilling holes for a nice liner now. But, during fitting of the liner and subsequent whack tests, I've noticed that the helm rings... but when I hold the grill with my hand, it doesn't. The grill is riveted on and it's wh...

Made something similar to that last based on this .doc: http://kelly.dwarfworks.com/sca/helms/H ... andout.doc the other night and, while I haven't fought in it, it seems plenty good, even just stuffed with poly-cotton quilt batting. With a good chinstrap, that is.

Damnation, is that ever pretty. And not just pretty pretty, but functional pretty. Rest assured, I'll be coming to you one of these days when I'm not in grad school for a non-starter helm...

Re: Stonekeep Armory Announcement: Going in a New Direction
Sounds like a great plan to me. Just make sure you have someone with a nice camera and a good white shooting stage/lightbox to take a nice shot of each piece or batch or specification (for regular-type items), tag 'em into a good inventory system, and link it all together and upload the new pics on ...

Woo hoo, just what period shoes need most: Modern heel lifting.
(Note: Sarcasm levels approaching maximum; modern shoes are bad for your feet BECAUSE of stuff like heel lifts.)
Why not just a solid double sole the whole length of the foot?

A Medium t-shirt usually fits well, a Large is typically a little looser than I like.
Chest Circumference is 40".
Please advise.
The grande aisettes look really nice on those coats.

How many layers? My first (sleeveless) gamb had two layers of quilt batting between two layers of medium-weight cotton canvas and it feels kind of insufficient, even over the body.

I've been considering shelling out for a Jolly Knight m , which is certainly in the right price range, but I would really like something with grand aisettes . Do you know of a vendor selling such a product at a relatively budget-friendly price? What are peoples' opinions of the Jolly Knight product?...

Favorite elbow pads to rivet cops to?
Hey guys. I just picked up some simple winged cops (think they're Stonekeep) from a buddy. I was planning on riveting them to elbow pads and then pointing the vambrace-edge of the cop to my vambs, as well, for an easy-on solution to my arms. What elbow pads should I order for this? Any other tips?
