the photo I was commenting on ( green looking vambrace/bracer thingy) have the seam running form the point of the elbow.. really nice until you put on elbow cops..... On that topic, my cops are going to be pointed on to the vambraces and the vambs will still be able to open, due to the way they are...

Fair enough. Plus, quillion strikes are known to have been used in period and low-stick "stick punching" strikes replace them fairly accurately, I suppose.

Sounds legit.

I did already agree that A was a better method, but I wanted to restate that for clarity.

I'll probably still fight in these to begin with, though. I'm young and resilient.

Well, yeah. You're punching a guy. Why do you think punch weapons are disallowed in so many games? I was just wondering if it was a shot that should be thrown considering the conceit of the game. Especially given the playability issues with confusing them with basket hilt shots, do you think people ...

I actually wound up with mine split the way they are because I rotated my wrist to cut the sock/duct tape form off of my arm and, instead of cutting at an angle to end at the inside side point of my elbow, I just cut straight up from my wrist and wound up at the crook of my elbow. I just didn't thin...

Rotate your hand in the direction defined by the log bones of your forearm. Yeah. It depends which way you have it rotated which way you think about this.

The better way to describe this construction issue is to talk about whether the seam runs to the point and crook or sides of the elbow.

170°F oven, sat the vambraces on some pieces of plywood I had laying around so as not to scorch them on a metal tray or the rack. Case the HELL out of the leather first (i.e., soak 'em for 10 minutes). Bake them for 10-20 minutes at a time, taking them out to shape them and then putting them back i...

Ah, yes, I guess at that volume it would be a lot cheaper to get a die cut and buy time on a stamping machine rather than buy that much time on a plasma cutter.

This puts a huge burden on those who are not physical prodigies. Exactly the opposite of that. A physical prodigy doesn't have to learn how to fight sword foot forward; he can just hit you in the shield side so hard you can't block it or else he's quick enough to go really deep for his crosses and ...

Thoughts: Shaped handles are key to blade edge awareness. Get a pell and throw your shots. If they land flat, make sure you correct it (either with grip, shot angle, or whatever) or don't throw that shot any more. If you throw flat in a fight, call it flat. If you still can't tell when you throw a f...

If there's a great enough skill gap between yourself and a rhino, you should be able to outmaneuver them in such a way as to either put them on the ground with a shot or just stone-cold nail 'em in the backs of their thighs, or their armpit, or someplace equally unpleasant.
