My suggestion is use some 12 G as well... when I did mine I used 12 guage all over because of concerns of getting dented.. ( strips deform much faster than solid chunks) the innermost sections like the diamond chunk would probably be okay at 14 guage. but the banding,splints, Y sections I really rec...

I like to think in terms of deductive reasoning for armor. mail had to have SOME protective quality especially when worn with a gambison or it wouldnt have been so expensive and worn so often during the early days of armor ( accounts of knights pierced with arrows and still fighitng during the crusa...

um id suggest not using the scroll saw for metal. Ive found them only to be good at cutting wood.. even plastic tends to fuzz up the blade . you may wanna buy a band saw... fair warning on the miter saw ... it will cut plastic pipe but it can and sometimes does shatter it... how it works on abs plas...

no really, Id suggest rolling the wrist edges back on themselves... it will keep the basubands from riding down your arm and diggin your wrist up..

I cut lil washers out and used brass round head rivets for mine.

its basically a four lobed washer in 16 guage brass... with a center hole.

considering what armor does to tape Id think tool dip would look like chewed ass after a few practices on the striking surface of a sword.

works great on handles though:)
it also covers maces right nice too. since the underlying rubber flexes instead of smashing it between helm and stick.

lemme know if there is some special paint or some such. I was told Id have to use some tint in the resin proper to get it colored ( this was in 1997 ) and pretty much gave up the idea after that.. just the thought alone of having four cans of resin all tinted up and NOT expecting it to get everywher...
