it get hammer hardend as you work it so annealing it on occasion especially with heaveir mild steels and stainless makes a good deal of labor saving.

the reason why those hinges are listed is becuase there was ten of us here that showed an interest in ordering them from brion about 3 years ago. I kinda doubt there had been much demand for them apart from a few armorers. hence the delay could be from not having a large neough order for the foundry...

ive always sewn leather squares onto my gambisons and had two hole punched into them prior to sewing..

the point simple goes through the leather holes and stay forever even under washing ( any armor should be line died to avoid discoloration, Pink while a cool color, is not heraldically correct:-0

Mandrakes foam is really good quality. its easy to shape and holds its form rather well even under major abuse.

woodcraft.com sells wood from veneer thickness in stanard 1/16th thickness up to 1 1/2" I think thicker even.. they have maple, oak, ash, damn near everything you can think of. having won a few civil cases in constuction ( aka did the work and did it well but never got paid) the BEST case senario is you get a lien on the property they own.. if they dont own anything you will propbably never see a dime..

before making my vaslgaard I did some tests on metals smacking 12 g mild and stainless down to 16g. Im of the opinion 12 g mild will do its job but its going to dent solely due to it NOT being a solid chunk of helm.
