( IMO its best to let the sword do the work as a general rule, but then again Im used to letting a hammer do the work all day as well)

the black princes belt appears to have a large buckle in front. Id think that would be much like a modern cowboy buckle.


Im a fan of using removable Pin hindges from stanley.
you can rivet them behind the leather and use a small brass wire with a loop in the end to attach.
