Welded mail review!

www.weldedchainmail.com I ordered a custom aventail with dagging in bronze ( it looks as brass as brass:-D with an extra three rows of bronze separated by three rows of SS flat rings. Master Knutt was fast in replying, fast in fabrication and super fast in shiping.. He is truely a " no joke" armore...

stand in front of a mirror. work shot selection while facing said mirror. what is open on you is what I see when Im hitting you.... learn to throw a wrap.... solder: nope Im lazy.

its riveted with counter sunk rivets and ground flush with the rest of the brass...

IMO brass makes a huge difference on SS armor.

after a few years fighitng mild to stay rust free with brass on it I dont think Id even make the effort to brass a mild piece again.

Ive yet to find any ferrous metal that dont blue under heat with a propane torch. stainless. mild ( of course) being the two chief ones... heat it spray it with WD-40 while its hot and cool it the rst of the way with a water hose. I had an Idea to use rivets and stainless and hammer the stainless over the ends of the barstock and rivet them. with a rivet in the center on the other bar..

( I was thinking swept hilt at the time. it may work then again it may look stupid)

Adam, you should get a jewelers saw and some no # 5 blades. you should think about brassing the brim with scallops...

with the top riveted on and cut in scallops I think brass pointing back at that seam would look nice.

theres effigies of plate sabatons in the 1320's they're little more than top covering plates riveted together. there is also some scales used in sabatons that may be a bit earlier. thats the best I can do for you.
