again its not a question of disabling your opponant the focus would become striking your opponant with a blow of force.

Hjalmar,

If we went to a counted blows format the armor would become the target since we're not intent on killing and not using that as our grounds for blow acceptance. the focus would change to striking your opponant instead of a " based on possible bodily damage" set that we contend with now.

guys, the nature of the average SCA fighter isnt to confront an issue with thier opponant. Ive used a buddies plazma cutter and used my own HF turd throatless shears for armor and frankly I cant see spending a grand for a plazma cutter for armoring and having to buy an air compressor. it was awesome for cutting out knife blanks though. if you where going to do more than armor maybe.

nothing against having projections so long as they not pose a safety hazard..

welding 16P nails to the skull of your helm would definitly make me raise an eyebrow and bounce your helm for example.

there is no thickness requirement on shield edgeing in the Midrealm anymore. people use everything from regular hose glued on with liquid nails. and car door edgeing which is super thin. usually Ill have a string of beads in hand during major tourneys while I wait bouts.. these actually relax me and give me an outlet..

Im not a fan of hypeing up before tourney because I begin to think too much. Ive found I work best lukewarm kinda..

Id had a planetary ring roller from HF...

it worked rather well for making coils of 1/4 barstock I would snip off sections and weld them to the grill work.. fast and efficient...
