yup "B" type round brass ( which are plated actually) I was delighted they where plated though since the part sticking to the leather would rust quicker if it was miled. I still sanded the plating off on the 3/16 side to keep the brass from reacting to the steel and rusting ....thanks Konstantin

you can make your own out of shelf pins found on woodcraft.com web site.. seems to me to be associated more with the styles of the times. Ive seen it more with milanese than gothic on effigies and such..
IMO thats what makes the kit appear proper is the use of mail in key points like the neck and waste.
