I used to use a lead block made from wieghts and scrap lead found at a scrap yard in colorado springs. I melted it into a small bread pan with a propane torch outside of course on a 15 MPH wind day. even wore a resperator mask. it was perfect for dishing small things like knuckle gadlings, closing u...

couple of tips for you. 1. use a chunk of wool to dye large peices. you get less streaking when you use a peice of wool with skin and hair on, it basically becomes a big dobber. 2. when waxing less open flame is better. a combination of a double boiler for small peices to dip in and an oven for larg...

to use something like what your talking about with the Durrattan you'll have to get special dispensation to by pass this. vii. a. 11. Rattan shall not be treated in any way that will substantially reduce its flexibility. (e.g. treated with wax, resin, fiberglass etc.) without that permission IE ( ex...

although I signed the petition I did so due to my vitrol at over mandating common sense... Im of the mind our continued additions to the rules is to cover that lack of common sense found in any group, I for one do not believe this is the job of the marshallate.. this is a peer pressure instance.. Fo...

Re: estrella after 15 years
so ive been thinking about it for some time now and i really need a second big fighting event to fill out my year. pennsic is a given for me. ulf wars has lost all of its appeal and i dont see that changing. and crusades is lacking something for me. now people have been encouraging me for years to ...

Just to be clear, my suggestion to ban left-handed fighters was an attempt to humorously illustrate how a well-intended SEM might act to "fix" a perceived problem (excessive instances of groin shots) through unilateral legislation. I am not actually advocating this (so long as everyone understands ...

IMO there is a degree of acceptable pain. ergo you choose not to wear quisse and get hit in the thigh with a Normal shot.. = pain/hurt... although Wulf I do disagree with your notion that ANY game needs its "badguys" .... in and of itsself "badguys" are subjective... in my view the "badguys" I know ...

fyi on lube.. I generally run the blade through old bar soap ( works on steel/ silver), bees wax ( on brasswork, I dunno why but it seems to lubricate better on brass, I think its the heat generated by cutting brass) basically anytime you change to insert the blade into a hole, aka start a cut... ru...

FYi cheap doesnt equate to good in jeweler saw blades ... IMO buying the best ones possible and eating a bit on cost is MUCH better since these things break constantly ... when you go for the cheapest you usually get what you pay for... m these are what I use .... they work great on brass and have a...

there has been a great deal of the " common sense" armor requirements going on around my area.. most of us believe that an adult should take and educated choice of what armor they wish to wear. IE if you feel the risk to a broken hand is acceptable then you dont have to wear a half gauntlet when usi...
