Are you able to do swords and shields to be sent to Ottawa? Re: 20 biggest events in the SCA

It looks like before making a top 20 list we need to make a list of events to chose from. We have Crown Tourney for each of the kingdoms. I would assume inter-kingdom events would be bigger events too. Nobody has mentioned Sea Raids. Is it big enough to possibly qualify for the list? Can anybody lis...

20 biggest events in the SCA

What are the twenty biggest events in the SCA? Pennsic is obviously #1, but what are #2 - 20 SCA-wide? Edit: The pool of big events so far: 1) Pennsic (East/Middle) 2) Estrella (Atenveldt/Caid) 3) Gulf Wars (Meridies/Trimaris/Ansteorra) 4) Great Western War (Caid/?) 5) Sea Raids(Atlantia/Mereides/Tr...

Munitions Grade Arms Carved Wasters

Does anybody have any good pictures of a carved waster that they bought from Eirik at Munitions Grade Arms? I'm not looking for plain wood, but after you have completed it with tape and hardware.

I balance them with a 5/8" carriage bolt. Would I need to include one? I can, but I thought that would just be extra shipping weight for something readily obtainable.

Rattan Gladius Kits

When I came up with my gladius rattan waster design, I expected them to be snatched up very quickly. They have sold, but at a slow trickle. I have yet to have anyone take advantage of the bulk discount offered at foxknife.com . I know there are roman units out there without a lot of money to spend, ...

Re: sca weapon questions.

If you are going to be using an angle grinder on a rattan sword, make sure you have a marshal gauge on hand and check it often (even if you have to borrow one from somebody). If you make one or two passes too many, there is no way to put rattan back on the waster. This is one of the reasons I offer ...
