For those that don't have that book, could you post a pic? I'm pretty good at web searches, but need to know what I am looking for.
For example, I have no idea if either of these are useful:

Re: Rattan Waster
I ran this piece through the "design your own waster" section at foxknife.com and came up with a price of $85, but I believe I'm going to knock that down to $75 (plus shipping) because of a slight curve in the wood that I was unable to completely carve out.

Rattan Wasters - Spatha, Maces and more
Edit: This item is sold (scroll down for more) First prototype of the new type 17 waster. Due to a curve in the original wood, I had to cut six inches off the blade tip. This example is 54" overall length with a 36" blade. Future examples should be 60" overall and have a 42" bla...

He's had sixty years to refine his stories. Show him you are interested, ask a few questions to get him started (like the ones above) and interupt only to ask more questions. He'll do the rest if you give him the time.

I am working on an illegal experiment right now. Going to talk to the KEM (AnTir) about it in July, and then run it to SEM. Basically taking siloflex, cutting it in half, and edging a sword face with it. People around here wrap sticks in rawhide, many to good effect. Unless you are a tall evil left...

I have somebody locally who wants a wolf head on his device, but the position is a bit modern: nose elevated to dexter chief, as if it is howling. Is that position too modern? The whole device is per fess vert and sable, a wolf head erased (elevated?) argent, in chief a shakefork or PS: This is the ...

Re: How fast do your weapons wear out?!?
To save my rattan, I have a stick that contains a split piece of siloflex rolled up and shoved inside another piece of siloflex just for the pell. I believe Sir Vitus has also talked about having a separate pell sword, but in his case it was intentionally a bit heavier than his fighting sword.

Dante said what I was thinking better than I could have said it. I've seen steady improvement in physical conditioning; but rarely in skill; skill always seems to come in small fits and starts. If you (or anybody you face) is properly armored, they shouldn't have to worry about 90% of the blows you can throw. It happens rarely, but I have received blows on my shield that moved me a step or two to the side and I've never thought "that could have hurt me." I have good armor and tru...

Sir Vitus makes some awesome wooden shields with no visible edging at all. They last forever.
