Those waiting for me to go significantly lower like I did on the last two armor pieces I sold should not hold their breath. In my lone opinion, this helmet could be worth more than the other two combined.

I wish I had thought to take a picture of the helm with the visor up to show how much overlap is above the eyes. Despite the tall visor it has a standard brow inside.

Re: FS: Hardened Leather Harquebusier coat

I remembered there was a 10 item flexibility checklist, but added back-bend when I couldn't remember the tenth item. I've remembered it now: bend sideways and touch the side of my knee. This one is a yes with conditions. If the arm hole had been higher I could move that direction with minor resistan...

Re: FS: Hardened Leather Harquebusier coat

The placement of the waist and the size of the arm holes are big factors. If the waist was down where modern jackets put it, I would have had problems.

I have no clue why, but shipping to Australia is twice as fast as shipping an item to Ukrainia. Even if Michael were lighting fast, you are looking at a month each way in transit.

Sean, have you ever fought in a breastplate or has all your torso armor bent even where you do not? I'm not sure what kind of problems you are expecting. Here's a quick flexibility checklist. I can touch my knees. I can touch my toes. I can twist as far as I can twist out of armor. I can touch my el...

In twenty years I have had one practice where somebody was not aware of their own sword enough to realize they were hitting my polearm not me. He threw the same blind flat snap against rattan six inches away from my body over and over, harder and harder. I ended up planting the butt of my pike in th...

FS: Hardened Leather Harquebusier coat (SOLD)

This coat was made by Æiric Ørvender in 2011 to resemble a sleeveless version of a harquebusier buff coat, but modified to act as stand-alone torso and thigh armor. It is 14-15oz, water hardened (cuir bouilli) leather sealed with acrylic sealant to protect against sweat and water, hand stitched with...

We were all younger once, but he has had his Laurel since 1992 so not that early. I also have the pieces of some leg armor that he called "early work" back when I wore them in the early 90's.

http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3328/3642075903_46edb57acb_d.jpg This helm was made by Baron Eldrid Tremayne in about 1990 specifically for my 24" head with 1/2" padding on the sides and 1 1/4" on top. FS: $300 SCA lobster-tailed harquebusier helm

While I've had a long-standing dream of an English Civil War fighting kit, the reality is that for the last twenty years I have been fighting in a mini-time travelers convention with some English Civil War pieces thrown in. The main reason I have held onto my ECW dream is the helm I'm giving up toda...

Awesome concept.

With that knuckle guard, do you need the bars between the pommel and throat ring? I would think eliminating them would allow the tang to flex a bit more.
