as sad as it sounds, I've had pretty good luck with a goodly spray of wd-40 and gently setting it in a good hot fire.
I imagine baking it in the over yields a more even result though.

The gorget is a medium, so it is sized to fit a 16 through 17.75 inch neck... with normal room for padding or a fencing hood.

Generally, the sizing for gorgets is as follows...
14-15.5 inch neck = small
16-17.5 inch neck = medium
18-20 inch neck = large
sometimes I vary from the above if the customer has special needs or concerns... and I've gone down to extra small or up to extra large as a special make if needed.

The bosses are made of 14 gauge mild steel. They are of 9 inch total diameter with the flange being 1 inch wide all around. The depth at the center of the boss is approx. 2 inches.

I like event selling too... but my truck is probably not reliable for the travel needed. (it's 20 years old and holds "no" oil due to BAD leaks) So, I really can't event sell for now... not til I get my truck fixed
