Yeah also sounds like he has never watched a couple of dukes go toe to toe.

Slow isn't a word that would normally be applied.

Sounds like a skinny guy with a bad attitude but I will give him credit on leaving a tip for the waitress.

I agree but as an outsider I see it as punishment. It is the crowns right however every time a person is held out especially if it is someone who has done the job before I find it ludicrous. Doesn't matter what kingdom it is. I could have held people out of my list but I didn't and I don't feel othe...

How about we let the Pirates get extra hit points and any Vampires have to be killed with a rattan spear, FRP spears don't count. Elves get plus 5 damage with arrows and Wizards can cast a rise from the dead spell on all killed fighters. I didn’t realize the SCA was adopting LARP rules… D...

The early days

Not the oldest days of SCA but mid to late 70s anyway. How many things can you see that are no longer allowed? I'll give you the hidden one. My dad is using a flail but it's behind his back. http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m214/johno1count/DADANDJonoff.jpg Duke Deaton Claymore in the back ground ...

I just said I find the scenario a bit silly.

Not my cup of tea but more importantly not an alteration to the fighting that would cause extreme dangers to the participants.

Acceptable, just not my thing.

I think it is a bit silly also. I don't mind girls walking around in fairy wings but larp rules for SCA melee does seem a bit out of hand.

Disclaimer - I had nothing to do with the set up of these battle scenarios.

No actually. I am sure there have been a couple already. Count Morgan Crusadene Claymore here in Atenveldt had much to do with the expansion of youth combat years ago along with his father Duke Deaton Claymore. They did much to advance youth combat. Count Morgan was doing youth combat for years befo...

That's what some of us have been laughing about with the last "revision" of the rules. A few things were left out of the details in the last edition.

That's ok though if they are no longer banned due to this error... it won't take long for them to be banned again.

Some of the things the SCA bans--including shield bashing--are perfectly acceptable practices among the Tuchux, yet I don't see the 'chux sporting more injuries than we have. Having fought with a local guy (Mongrel Slimedog, who is not a small man) "Tuchux-style" on several occasions in w...
