I have seen but that could be because they are doing a demo. Most demos get a little wilder and faster since the point is to make it look impressive adding the element of danger. Its not a demo. its a recording of the actual tourneys edited for a demo. They are hitting plenty hard. The look of it i...

Well I wasn't Audax. I said it would be custom because I am going to make it. I said that I would hope some of you would forgive a somewhat "fantasy" appearance if you don't recall. I didn't claim it to be historically accurate but merely a custome piece of functional artwork that would fi...

The question I have (as a greatsword fighter thinking about making a shorter bastard sword) is the length? My GS comes to just under my chin, I'm 6'3" so that's about 10 inches shorter than me, 5'5" or so. Now how long would the bastard sword be? another foot shorter? 10 inches make it a ...

Here's Ugo's panther helm. It is a close helm, and so it screams late 15th parade armor. http://www.ugoserrano.com/sitebuilder/images/helm18-492x345.jpg A correction I would like to make to Johno is that they did NOT stop using great helms in the middle of the 14th century. But they were considered...

Thats pretty groovy but a bit to bulky for my taste. Neat though.

I will be making mine.

I am sorry this thread went way OT maybe I will talk about my helmet idea elsewhere so people who need to can give me grief.

The only part I don't like is that lack of follow through makes it looks less like actual fighting and more like a show. Think back to your first time in armor watching the more senior fighters going at it. I bet it was too fast for your eye to really follow. Probably the same thing here, only if t...

My harness looks good and I shoot for at least historical plausability within my means. *devils advocate* but what says its not plausible, it could be an extention of a houndskull visor, and if someone in the period so desired it *could* have been made.... Many of the helms of that fashion are late in the period for the SCA. You might want to look at other ways to dress up your armor with wolves as the motif and they can look just as "evil" and intimidating. If you are going for the late 14th, early 15th C look there are several ways you ca...
