Fight more. Get serious about it again. Maybe even get back to a competative level and make some magic happen for more than just myself.

Re: Where are all of the TRUE Warriors?
Mr. Baird- Yes, yes it is. (edit: I just realized that you could be refering to the captain and not me.) Count Johnathan- I am sorry, but I am unclear as to what you are referring to. Is it the statement that "this sport has no room for chivalry" or that I am not interested in playing tha...

Re: Where are all of the TRUE Warriors?
Gethin that is an odd statement that doesn't sit well with many an SCA fighter I am sure though Chivalry is a personal pursuance and I think one could participate in this activity and keep their personal code of chivalry intact. Alas I neither have the proper kit or funds to participate in such a co...

I'll run right out and buy a water jet then! LOL
Even files are destroyed by the stainless I use. I am pretty much limited to round holes for now and even with good cutting oil I go through drill bits like TP
I think I need to get a whitney punch.

Re: fluted crusader
Is the chisling of cut outs like that possible with stainless? I haven't tried simply fearing it would mean the certain destruction of my tools.
Do you chisel that stuff out cold or does heat assist in that?
Thanks for the tips and such brother.

So what are the two rivets over the eyes for? Are they actually securing some hidden portion of the face or are they just there for aesthetics?

Yes, though we have differing opinions on a number of things I do appreciate that you were willing to speak with the masses. Re: Please Define "Unbelt"
Actually Logan the SCA order of the chivalry started out as knights "of the kingdom" until Feb-1973. An odd series of events led the King of the West (a knight) and the king of Atenveldt (a master & not able to create knights alone) to "team up" and Knighted my father and Ray...

Red paint will make it hit much harder I am sure but I would add flames or lightening bolts as well! Maybe some light effects to make it look like sparks fly when it hits!

Thanks. Like I said the pics don't do it justice. I was considering maybe putting a patina on it to give it that iron appearance but I suppose that would be up to whoever wants it.

So how durable is that stainless patina? Have you whacked it and or done scratch tests on it yet?
Looks like cool stuff that could change the game for those who want the low maintenance of stainless but don't dig the shiny bit!

This original one of a kind helm will last many life times taking daily abuse with nearly ZERO maintenance! I've left helms made of this material wrapped up in a soaking wet gambison stuffed into a water tight armor bag, stuck in a store room for months after Estrella and it came out just as shiny ...

I have plasma torched holes and filled with tin/lead alloy on special orders. I have also filled with clean dry sand and welded the hole shut. I do not think I will offer them for presses, although they work great for hand dishing. I don't think this is my calling. Ahhh I did not know the doughnuts...

Re: How would you fix this helm?
Since they are into rapid production my guess is that is due to the visors being constructed on a jig from a stock pattern rather than being fitted to the actual helm they are going on.
