to what end is the reason for limiting the sizes of shields.

try hardened leather bazubznds,
there are several people who make them here.
try gavin kilkenny or torvaldr i know they do.
and im sure there ore more.
they are light cover both areas and should not impede the bow string.

yeah the point would concern me a bit i would rather it be rounded back under the chin for a little more protection in that direction.
unless you have a very short neck then this would be perfect.
