There is one important detail...the polished, white areas of the armour are higher than the blued or blackened areas. This makes sense, when you consider the lower areas are left rough from the hammer, and the raised portions polished clean. Ease of access, as far as the polishing tools. But, you pr...

I watched just one video with JC in it. One. That was more than enough to be completely put off by his attitude and self-righteous arrogance. It was the way he spoke, like anyone besides him was a complete and utter idiot. I don't care if he was enlightened on swordfighting by the soul Arthur Pendra...

Keegan- you deserve some public praise here. Your first swing at making garb puts most veterans to shame. Frankly, you looked better than I did, and you're already inspiring me to be better. I would actually guess more towards mail for the arms, Damon.
At least, that's what it looks like to me, from this image. Compair it to his aventail.

Also seems to be a buckled rerebrace over the mail?

I wear woven ones, buckled. The friction between it and the fulled wool of my hosen keeps them from even shifting, much less sliding off. But I'm aware that the tongue of the buckle will eventually wear too much of a hole through the band, and I'll have to get them replaced. ETA: Oh, and my kit is 1...

Excellent fighting in some pretty miserable conditions. It was like watching a fight on ice, combatants were sliding around so much on the mud.

And a heck of an event to attend, for my first SCA event... :)

Right now, it sounds like your attachment points are on the skirt of your cote. When you're standing straight, the skirt is close to your body, keepin...

Circ = pi x diameter or = pi x 2radius so add Y to the radius to find the new circumference. New_Circ = pi x 2(radius + Y) Edit: Wait, ellipse, not circle. I usually use Reynolds Wrap: Heavy Duty

http://www.walmart.com/ip/REYNOLDS-FOIL ... L/14869226

Yes, its still aluminum foil. Its still thin. However, it is sturdier than the normal thickness. Added bonus, I use it when I'm baking or roasting in the oven.

Thick cooking foil. You can mold and crumple it around a person to get the shape, then cut to shape, and press out flat for the pattern.

Adding this to my "things I need for my shop" list.

That looks like just enough fire for most all of my raising needs, and the price and space requirements are a heck of a lot less daunting than, say, a coke forge.

How is it as far as fuel consumption?

Nicely done, Matt. The soldering on these is very neatly done; I can only just barely make out the joint on the ring. I don't know if its a trick of the light or not, but you might have a bit of rouge smear on the pendant, still. The cab settings are smoothly done, as well. I remember the 'fun' I ha...
