Re: Armor Question
As to soft kit to go under this 1360s armor, you need an arming coat. Your armor ties to it by a series of laces, called points. It keeps everything in place, so that the armor moves with you, instead of fighting against you. http://gambesons.com/ http://www.revivalclothing.com/article-armingsequenc...

Re: A new look at an old friend.
Another thing that strikes me about how high and tight the lames are, is the fact that they go no lower than the armpit. Much, much higher than 98% of modern attempts, and after swinging my arm around and thinking about it, makes perfect sense. No compression is needed below that point in order to b...

Re: Corrazina
Well, it's possible that it originally was under the stop rib at the arm opening. It was discussed earlier that the rivets have been replaced on that stop rib. Perhaps during the initial removal, they had to cut the fabric there to avoid further damage to the cloth. It is certainly a very clean line...

You can zoom in at this link. The stop rib for the neck is definitely applied on over the original cloth.

Re: portable mud oven
That might work, but it'd probably have to be an inner layer of clay for the oven chamber and chimney, some kind of filler material to build up the thickness, and then an outer layer of clay or some mud-like compound to stabilize and hold the whole thing together. Clay, generally, hates to be dried ...

Glad it helped! They're compression springs, with the two bar hooks going through the inside of the spring. You see them a lot on porch swings.

It's also possible that it was influenced by religion, maybe? A lot of odd things have been done in the name of tradition, ceremony, superstition, and ascribed significance. It's possible that sword belts were specifically alum-tawed and forked because of some part of the vow knights were taking at ...

If it's just for show, then a plastic snow disk will work, after some paint. If you want to get fancy, glue some craft foam on first, to add detail like a raised rim. If you actually want it to stand up to getting beat upon, you could try a Flexible Flyer. http://www.qualitytrading.com/flexible-flye...

Don't see why not. You'd just need to find buffing or sisal wheels that will work with an angle grinder, instead of an arbor. http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=4+Felt+Buffing+Wheel+Angle+Grinder+100mm Edit to add: Saftey-wise, I agree with Ckanite. I'm not sure...those lames and gadlings on the fingers are very defined...as is the knuckle rider under the main plate on the back of the hand. I think this is a metal gauntlet with some sort of articulated metal cuff. Very interesting!

More than anything, duck cloth just doesn't breathe...a little more than a synthetic fabric like polyester, but not much. Seeing as how you're living in the humid heat, you'd be better off with a linen canvas. http://www.fabrics-store.com/ 7oz. weight would work well. They also sell 8 and some 10oz,...

Well, judging by the hats you've posted, about half that. I strongly suggest you make a test piece out of cheap materials like cereal boxes. Much easier and cheaper to make all your tweaks and mistakes there, than in metal.

For instance, you could perhaps use a softball or baseball to form the shoulder cops for her. A stack of magazines or whatnot duct taped together and wrapped...

Re: Fighting Codpiece....
I made a (historically inaccurate) pair of joined hose just for fighting and included an exterior pocket to hold a modern cup. Think a V shaped pocket attached in front. After fighting, I simply unbutton the pocket top and chuck the cup. It’s very comfortable while fighting, eliminates chafing, and...
