I am not a racist either, just a good ol boy proud of his country roots.

Egfroth has some scans of line drawings of the original and at one time had given me a copy of the image. I even hosted the image for a while. Of course now that i need it to verify something i cant find it. Does anyone else have the image? Please send it to me asap if you do! Thanks Halvgrimr

I think it's fun to think about this type of stuff because you will never know if you are right or wrong! As someone who does both SCA and WMA I dont see as big a difference as alot of other who only do one. For me one influences the other. --I totally agree with Angus For years i have heard guys h...

I don't quite understand SCA resistance to live steel of living history, it's like some folks can't believe anyone else will take it to a different level, not better, different. Halvgrim thanks for the heads up Flonzy[/quote] --i think its changing, most of NADARA's members are past/present SCA memb...

I would like to point out that at least 3 of the folks translation manuals in the HWMA field are SCA knights/Counts, Steve Hick is Sir Strykar (sp?) and is considered to have been one of the best in Atlantia, Bob Charron I believe is at least a Count, and Brian Price is a Count. Flonzy --Bob (Conn)...

Re: striped pants
I think it would be very well within the realm of plausibility to go ahead and wear the striped pants....very rich dyes were known, reds, blues, purples, all expensive, so perhaps you only found those pants being worn by chieftans, petty kings, hersirs, lendermen, and the other upper echelons of vi...

For reenactors, this isn't an "aw shucks" moment. It's just a matter of course. They didn't wear glasses, so neither do we when we're "being them". Kass --I would like to mention that in all the frukas that has occurred on the matter of eyeglasses, I am willing to concede that in some instances we ...

I find most often, the definition of LH is used as the point of the snobbery sword, i.e. "we are doing living history, what (crap) you are doing is not living history." I'm sure you know what I am talking about. Despite claims of altruism and wanting to educate others, some folks use their concept ...

JP I use rawhide edging on both my SCA and rebated steel shields. I, like you, have never had any luck with chew toys. I buy sheets of rawhide and cut them into 2-3 inch wide strips. I then soak these in the bathtub until the are workable. I then 9after drying them a bit) lay one of top of the other...
