Those aren't lamellae, they are 'scales'.

Lamellae generally lace together
These look to be made to lace to a foundation garment.

I have to admit I after seeing the prices I was excited though:)

How long is it? What thickness of rattan did you use? Yep, I own a pair of Ashir boots and am happy with them
I bought a pair of Bohemond boots at Pennsic and after 3 days they stretched so much the flopped on my feet.
Sold them and got Ashir boots:)

Well, the problem is, SO MANY of the other helms of this period survive as only thin thin thin sheets of what amount to aluminum foil like iron.

This being so thick goes against that grain and leads me to believe its a cast (alloy) piece
I could be totally off base but I REALLY want to know more:)
