Re: WTB non spun shieldboss

I think otto makes hand hammered ones ? This one looks non-spun, at 30 usd to boot. http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=133956&p=1984128&hilit=shield+boss#p1984128 Yeah, the trouble is, I am a picky bitch. Most SCA shield bosses (especially the spun ones) are to b...

Re: My wifes Bayoux work

It was brought to my attention I might have come off as a douche by trying to 'one up' Adams's wife's work.
That was not my intent and I apologize to Adam and his wife if it was perceived that way.

Re: My wifes Bayoux work

Yep, at the end of our first meeting (TFBO), one of the boys was bitten by a spider and had to be taken to the ER. This 'joyous' event was commemorated on the tapestry:) Also commemorated, (amoung other things) are the microburst that hit the passenger van shortly after I picked up our Brit guests, ...

Re: My wifes Bayoux work

Very nice! A friend of mine hand stitched an 18ft long section of tapestry using scenes from the BT to document how we all meet and became food friends. It took her over a year of subway rides to work, lunch hours, subway rides home, and spare time at home to do but it is a beautiful piece of artwor...

Another Linengarb review

While at Lilies yesterday I stopped by Linengarb (its becoming a yearly ritual) I got to see alot of his new products in person and once again he impresses. I picked up a few new items and hope to grab a few more this weekend if I get to go back. Very soon Linengarb will be the one stop shop for new...

Re: The point of re-creation...

Are we trying to reproduce a time, or re-create? Who is we? Various group have differing ideas on the answer to that question. Trying to apply your (generic your) definition to another group definition leads to insanity (trust me on this) There are above average LH quality SCAers There are below av...

Show us your Rus kit!

I am thinking of converting to an early period Rus kit (pre 11th C)
Not set on a specific time yet.
Probably gonna let a cool looking (and hopefully not over done) helm set the exact time frame.

Lets see your existing one!

I use a similar set up (they are my old rebated steel gloves with the fingers cut off)
If you wear a vambrace (that covers the points of the wrist) you dont even need the cuff!

Nice work though!

Not to mention the thickness of the pieces will vary quite a bit.
