Murdock, dude...that sucks. For your sake I hope it's just pulled tendons and nothing torn. I tore my some muscle tissue in my right right bicep last April...still giving me trouble. With my messy life I didn't do the right things to let it heal properly, and can't afford surgery. Have a couple litt...

Thanks for the information, all. I've been doing research on it for a while, but found the expansion method a bit challenging to my spatial logic for some reason. It's starting to make a little more sense now. My next question would be...Is the expansion ring best inserted on every 5th row, every th...

Aventail Pattern
OK, so, I got a package of loose riveted maille rings and rivets, and I'm feeling a little masochistic..so I'm going to make a rivet mail aventail for my kettle helm. Problem: No Pattern. I have the TOMAR, and there is a description of how to make an aventail, but not alot of instruction. Does anyon...

Maelduin mac D, do happen to have plans for your other scraps? If not, are they mild or stainless, flat or round wire, wedge or round riveted? I'm working on a project with loose flat ring, round rivet mail from Icefalcon, and scraps would make it go faster, if your's match up and they are for sale ...

My first body armor was interwoven panels of one-inch wide strips of black and tan conveyor belt. I looked like a walkign chess-board. In fact, I recall a pretty girl actually playing checkers on my breast-plate when I took a break during fight practice. I made a sort of skirting out of thick black ...

Little back story before I get to the fun part. I would rather go through Basic Training again than continue to live with my inlaws. Quick Question: I know the CoTT is inspired by an arranged scuffle between English and French knights, squires and men-at-arms...so I am curious about the origin of harnesses allowed at the Pennsic CoTT. Is it restricted by the spirit of the 14th Century to continental armours, IE English, French, I...

Looking for Brass
Anyone have a supplier for brass strips, say .064 (16 ga.) 1/2 inch wide? 12 inch long bits would work.
Thanks all.
Thanks all.

In Northshield minimum length for fiberglass spear is 9 ft. Friend of mine mane a nice 6 footer out of fiberglass, and he can't use it. So a 2.5 foot fiberglass rod is good for...propping open a window, or physically reeducating an in-law that desperately needs it... Oh, lots of other uses, I suppos...

I've got less than 6 foot rattan 'light lance' with a cutting/smashing head about 10 inches long with thrusting tip, and a thrusting butspike at the other end. My buddies call it my 'Cheater' It's fast, works great for close-quarters fights, and I've scored some impressive kills with it one-handed. ...

Russ, I was wondering the same thing. I've used anchoring holes in rattan and hard-rubber axe heads and secured with wet rawhide laces and a bit of glue. And when that rawhide and glue dry, the head does not move. Ever. I bet Sir Vitus' anchoring system is individual holes sewn through. Looks very s...

This type does not ground, and must be padded. The plates are substantial though. I finished building one of these kits a couple months ago. Wish I had the cash for another one. It was a fun build, and a blackened set of these gauntlets would be uber-spiffy. I bet it's a Whonew kit, so it's easy to ...
