Great selection of buckles, early to late period. I have seven of thier buckles on my lamellar. They are holding up quite well to the abuse they get.

Just gonna throw in my two cents on this one, since Armour from the Battle of Wisby is pretty much the bible for my persona. The Danish army, composed of Danes and Germans, would not allow the residents of Wisby to bury the dead for several days. I am sure some looting of the dead and dying took pla...

If this deal can work on the bulk pricing, I'd be interested in two pair of the Medival Buckled Ankle boots, one in Womens 9 and one in Mens 10, if they really are true to US shoe sizing. My question is this; Can the bulk pricing be applied to different styles of shoe/boot, or must it be an order fo...

Thanks for the reply Gryffinclaw. 1. By 'psuedo-coif' I basically meant what is refered to as an aventail...though historically a kettle healm would be worn over a coif, which would be worn over a padded hood or cap. The leather drap is what I refer to as a psudo-coif. It's not the full, real thing,...

WTB: Brass/Bronze Alphabet Belt Mounts
Greetings all, I'm looking for brass/bronze letter belt mounts. 3/4inch tall or there abouts would be good, anything near 13th to 14th century font would be good. Working on a project for matching belts for the wife and I. Her belt would have the names of the two kids between us, and mine would have...

OK, I guess it might seem odd to put a plastic boss on a leather buckler, but I was looking at it this way: both materials are effective for thier purpose, and why not pair medieval plastic with modern plastic? I guess iit was a littl bit of a private joke to me, considering the game we play, at wha...

Ok, it might sound odd to put a plastic boss on a leather buckler, but I was looking at it this way: We are modern people playing at being medieval, What better way to juxtapose that concept that to pair a very modern, synthetic material with a very organic material used during medieval times? Moder...

Here's a link to a recent buckler project I did using a solid piece of water formed (for flatness) wax-hardened sole-bend leather paired with a nifty Valkyrie Forge/Duke Baldar center-boss and handle, construcet with a bit of glue and copper burr rivets. I'll have to work on getting pics of my Windr...

What? A Swede in the CotT?
OK, reading that subject line, it sounds bad. I concidered attempting to start a new thread, since there really isn't one just for the reconstruction/recreation of purely 'Swede from the Battle of Wisby, 1361' But, since my inspiration, and ultimate goal, is to be in the CotT at least once, I'm post...

Svonbaden, I had to remove the strap and gel nose piece, and they are basically tied to the inside of the grill, and then a few wraps of black cloth tape to secure it. It was done as a spur-of-the-moment fix at an event. I couldn't get my bucket on over the Rec-Specs either. I'll try to get some pic...

My lovely wife helped me make mine from the Period Patters no. 101, Medieval Miliotary Garments, View VII, from Pillaged Village. The turned out nice and are pretty comfortable. May need more padding/hard reinforcement, but they are a very adaptable pattern.

sooo....Whonew, did you decide on a price for just the finger and thumb tip and long plates and knuckle gadlings as a kit? I use the finger-tip tabs on the middle, ring, pinky and thumb, then have a length of 550 cord at a slight diagonal accross the fingers, along with a thin lether palm strap. Very stable and provides positive closure and grip. I've used this on a set of AB Hammer gauntlets, which also had a cionching...

I'm a chubby-bunny at 300 lbs. I went form a leather a 18ga galvenized steel coat-of-plates(one of the GAA Armouries kits) to a Lamellar kit, plates pruchased from Polar Bear Forge. It made a world of difference in comfort and mobility. Lamellar is the way to go.
