Girdle purse w/pouchlets

Here's my version of the girdle purse, as described in Purses in Pieces. It's made from a chocolate deerskin, hand sewn with linen thread. The buckle and strap end are the Agincourt set from Fettered Cock. It has two main compartments and two pouchlets. The main compartments measure about 10 3/4 inc...

Thanks for the reviews, guys. Future kits will have more thread, more pitch, and a re-worked set of instructions (with actual pictures instead of my ham-fisted attempts at illustration ). I don't currently have any kits available (I'm out of the veg-tanned leather right now), but I'll let you know a...

Looking at these I notice the straps are not attached on the outside but come thru a slit and I would guess are attached on the inside. I have seen this on some other armor here and was wondering if there is a advantage to strapping this way or is it just because of the clean look it gives? -Matthe...

I've decided to change my kit a little, so I'm selling my current one to finance my endeavor. both the arms and legs are made from 13-15 ounce leather, sith rivets in them for tha splinted look. Both the elbow cops and leg articulation were made (by yours truly) from 16 guage mild. The elbows were d...

From everything I've read, the slight pine taste will be there for awhile. I can't say from experience, however- like the cobbler's children having no shoes, I don't have one of my own bottles. I've sold every one of them! :D

"Odd" bottle for sale; mug too- new price for both

Here's a 40 oz bottle that turned out a little "off" during the stuffing/shaping stage- the leather stretched a little differently on BOTH sides, causing it to be somewhat distorted. http://home.armourarchive.org/members/thorgrim/leatherwork%20pics/odd%20bottle.jpg The regular price for th...

OK- let's turn this into an auction. I'll let it run until Wednesday, or until I get a bid I like, whichever comes first. Buyer pays shipping.

Will someone start the bidding at $40?

Vitus scabbard for sale (NOW AUCTION!)

I have one of Vitus' scabbards, and unfortunately I need to pay an unforseen bill more than I need to look spiffy. My loss is your gain, however. This scabbard has never been used (it doesn't even have holes punched for the buckle yet!) http://home.armourarchive.org/members/thorgrim/Other%20pics/Vit...

Two more DIY 40 oz bottel kits available

I have two more of my 40 oz bottel kits available. Each comes with instructions, pine pitch, waxed linen thread, and a bottle blank with the edges beveled and the holes drilled. They are $35 shipped in the US or to an APO, and as always I gladly accept PayPal at m_kreitzer@yahoo.com.

Is there interest in handbound books?

I'm planning to make a hand bound leather covered book. I'm using acid free 70 lb bond paper and sewing it with waxed linen thread. Would anyone be interested in such a thing? What would folks be willing to pay for somethikng like that? (I gotta know if it's worth the time I think it's gonna take.)

As a matter of fact, I have a kit for a 64 ounce bottel. It comes with the same items as the 40 oz kit, it just makes this bottel:

Gethin:
Do you mean the bottel or the costrel? I don't do the costrel- that one's a little bit difficult to put in kit form. However, I would do a 64 oz bottel kit. It's essentially a scaled-up 40 oz.

DIY bottle kits

I have two DIY 40 oz bottle kits available. Each kit comes with the bottle leather pre-glued and -drilled with the edges beveled, enough pitch to seal the inside, a cherry wood stopper (pre sealed with wax), enough waxed linen thread to sew the halves together and instructions. They make this bottle...
