The bandwidth thing is exactly why I dumped the old Geocities site. Having a real website with an actual domain name without bandwith restrictions it great.

My suggestion would be to do what I did- dump the Geocities site and get a site from Yahoo's Small Business website. Mine costs me a whopping total of $36 for three months- and it's already paid for itself multiple times in the last three days. Their Sitebuilder tool is really easy to use, too.
