105 is still great!
Your English really isn't bad. I've heard worse from my in-laws who grew up near the Okefenokee Swamp in Florida. Their Redneck accent is so bad that it's barely English.
With thanks,

Thank you for the kind offer Sir Guy. I will not be on Facebook, even with a proxy. So I'll have to stick to the SCA rather than BotN. As it is, I don't think I'd have time for BotN anyway. And if I were on Facebook, I would have even less time for family or the SCA.

Re: BotN Dream Team USA for 2013
I like the sports club idea. If there were fee of $20 for each practice (extra donations accepted) then the team who went would be able to spend more money on their armour and training, and less on the flight, etc... The problem is this ... the 25 year olds you want to send ... cant afford the armor...

I think I'll need to take a step back and just upgrade my cap-a-pie kit piece by piece, and forgo the CotT and buy a fencing mask. It might be cheaper and more fun in the long run.

The eternal catch 22 for fighting. When you are physically fit enough to fight well, you don't have money for good armour. When you have the money for good armour, you don't have time for fighting.

Re: BotN Dream Team USA for 2013
Who decides who the best are?
I'd go with the best teams instead of best people...so who would the best teams be?
Who is planning on going back this year?
I'm 43 years old and in good shape for 43 years old, but not in good shape for 25 years old, which is who I would be fighting against.

BotN Dream Team USA for 2013
Hi, We've had "top five" lists and they've been fun. So here is a "top 40" list request. Who would you send to the BotN for 2013 as Team USA. Assume a Team USA that numbers at least 40 fighters, with specialists for each event (singles, professional, 5 vs. 5, 21 vs. 21, All vs All). Who would you se...

Re: Will the BoTN change the SCA:s HF game?
OUr HMB team will be bigger (more fighters ) and younger next year. We will spend a year working on learning from the teams who know how to do this. We want to give the good teams a better contest. The SCA will change. It is always changing. But it will never be the HMB and it does not need to be. ...

Maybe what I need is an effigy or painting from 1300-1399 that can be made into a good CotT and BotN kit. And I KNOW there are others.

Right, there are many rapier fighters that are late period. But for heavy, not so many. This reminds me of the one and only tournament I ever won. It was bad weather in New Jersey and at an archery event they announced they'd host a heavy fighting tournament as well. I had my old Battle of Wisby kit...

Not many of us out there. :( I guess I could be in some kingdoms, because if I'm there I might be the only late period (post 1450 AD) fighter around. It's easy to win a race that nobody shows up to. I haven't seen a late period fighter in the Outlands. I think Baron Henric of Bright Hills (Atlantia)...
