Re: Retiring from ACL steel fighting
No joke. I am 55, have nothing to prove and want to go out at the top of my game. I have fought in the world championship, represented my own gang and the United States in two tournements in Montreal, five national tournements and many regional events. I never want to be that guy that didn't know w...

Is the blade the only thing that counts as far as a hit? And can you hit with parts other than the blade for position rather than points?

Re: Retiring from ACL steel fighting
That was an smile of pure joy I saw at the end. Well done! The spins were epic, and when the white feathers fell I was bummed I couldn't see the shot that hit them. In Japan we have a fellow who spins like that and people always told him it wouldn't work...and then still said that after he made it w...

Hi Hal, I have used your dishing donut for years. It still works great! Could you sell me the dishing hammer and the "hammer rivetts in insanely difficult locations" long hammer please? And what other tools can you tempt me with, please? I own and use your ball on a stick, railroad spike on a stick,...

Thanks Hal!
My skull is huge and I enjoy extra padding in the helmet. So for me, you shipped the perfect brow size. I'll make the other changes ASAP.
Thank you for an enjoyable afternoon with more to follow!

Re: Any intrest in my "Carlos the Crusader" helm kit?
Hi, This is what the helm looked like after I shaped it well. Please contrast with the helm-in-the-tree photo. With new shape.JPG My son and daughter helped out. Please note that I had to buy Maureen a new drill, but I found a speeder bar and we slowly made holes in the steel. Caitlin Using the Spee...

Hi, Then I shaped the helm to get the "egg shape" of my head rather than the round shape. I used this highly complex tool featured below. Re: Any intrest in my "Carlos the Crusader" helm kit?
Hi, OK, I was on vacation this week, and I'm recovering from stuff that happened last year. Armouring is incredibly relaxing and yet frustrating and physical. It's like golf but less expensive (sort of) and there is a product at the end. Just don't throw your hammers in frustration. The helm I'm sho...

Re: Any intrest in my "Carlos the Crusader" helm kit?
We used duct tape to get the helm parts looking like a helm.
I used my boot as a press to shape the helm. Now it's time to drill, bolt and nut this helm together.

Hi Hal, We might be able to armour this weekend with Baron Alahandro (yeah I spelled that really wrong). But the last time I chatted with Paladin74 we scheduled for May for an armour in. Oh my that is tempting. Just buy the couters...and then I'd need full arms....but full arms don't go well without gauntlets....and since I have the gauntlets, maybe I need full legs and sabatons....
Those are beautiful!

Re: Can anyone make this???
So this helmet built by Jackie is available through Ice Falcon. I think it would be a tad rude to ask another armourer to build a helmet that is currently available, built by the fellow who made the original you are looking at, sold by someone who has excellent business ethics. Just save up the cash...

Yeah. I thought I spend a lot. After seeing what some people buy, a full suit of spring stainless looks cheap, and even disposable.
Those arms Wade let me wear were sweet! John's gorget was art and I'm shocked Nick guessed which was the original and which was the reproduction.
