The only negative with accdntprone is he is too nice. He flew to my house (when we lived in Lakewood, Washington) on his own dime, slept on our couch, built a helmet for me from the shells I had in the shop (while using lots of dramatic flare and impressing my wife and son and I with his dramatic ar...

Wow. I'm not sure how many armouries could do that.

Astounding.

Yep. :( As long as I've got Ice on the thread, and think I can highjack this thread....;)... Ice, how is your fenci...

I don't think you can throw the Spanish team out of the ring and yell, "Remember the Alamo!!" as you do so...even if you are Team Texas. ;)

Re: Battle of the Nations- Team USA

Ah...if I won I would have six sets of the tonlet armour of the Chamberlain of Burgandy made, in spring stainless. Then I would recruit a team of five to go to Battle of Nations in those suits, and we'd use pollaxe. It would be grand!

OK, I put $2 into the $400 million dollar Powerball lottery. And the better half says that if I win, I can put $100K to going to fight at Battle of Nations.

So I've got a chance now!!!

Re: Battle of the Nations- Team USA

The danger isn't the issue. At no time was I in danger on the BotN practice field. The cut on the inside of my knee was from a sweaty, salty leather strap acting like a lubricated band saw on my knee. If I had a 4 hour workout in the gym while wearing the armour, I would have had the same wound just...

Cut and Thrust Experiences?

Hi, Could you post pictures, comments and/or videos of SCA C&T combat? I'd like to open a debate here. A good armourer is working to build three C&T helmets for my family and I so we can practice in the back yard or even inside. Time to fight even locally has grown scarce and I know the kids and my ...

Re: Battle of the Nations- Team USA

In 2020 I might have time, money and even health to join the Armoured Combat League...and might even be able to host a training site. But until then it's doubtful.

Playing ACL that ONE time was such a blast that I was hooked. But then things happened and I had to back off.

Costs are the issue:

1. Time - Don't have it right now.

2. Health - Don't have it as good as I used to...right now.

3. Money - Don't have it right now.

ASK the Archive about a POC before you deal with them in financial terms. It has been absurdly effect for many. Do a quick test now if you'd like. Spin the wheel, find six to ten armourers and simply post this question to the Classified Area: "I'm considering buying from ________________ armoury. An...

Historical sports armour...

I wonder if the BotN group will consider bulk leather armour for what they do. Absorbs the damage and then disposed of? One use, and then toss it? Like toilet paper? ;)

Hi Hal, Do you have an almost idiot proof fluting tool? I've long admired the fluting that is produced by members of the Archive, but my fluting always turns out horribly. I've got one of your fluting tools but I think that is for after the crease is started as per the tutorial below: http://www.arm...

Hi,

More advice please?
