The rule is fine for the hourglass style gaunts... 14th C. type; but for the later period armour it just seems wrong So does a face-grill for a spanglehelm...but we do it for safety. That said, this might be the start of slippery slope to fighting in those Sumo Wrestling suits they have a the count...

But steel hourglass gauntlets? I think the stick would have just hit the steel straight into my inner wrist. I fight in a full bell gauntlet protected 360 degrees, and sometimes, the gauntlet does dig into the base of my thumb. With some advice from a local Laural in armouring (and Knight), I adjus...

Lets see how often this is enforced.

My wife's gauntlets don't have a inner cuff, so we'll have to add some heavy leather to them.

But, we were planning on covering them anyway (their plastic).

A Martial Art prides itself in style, form, perfection of self and looks. Katas in Karate and Jui-Jituzu qualify as Martial Art – they are for the viewing of the crowd. A Pas-de-Arms for SCA might qualify in this regard. A Martial Sport prides itself in success. Examples include Judo, Fencing...

Find out what local sheet metal workers make per hour, and then multiply times the number of hours you spent on the project (including the research, etc...). If the price is less than $20K I'll be mighty surprised.

I've only had injuries from not stretching enough.

Now I watch the clock as a I stretch for ten minutes.

It's amazing how long it drags on, but it gives me time to deep breathe, psych myself up, etc...but I'm just stretching and watching the clock.

[SCA] Full body target -- would the Earl Marshall allow it

Howdy, Last night at fighter practice I heard the opinion that full-body targeting (including lower legs) would never be allowed in the SCA, regardless of the situation. Then I heard maybe, with some serious reservations. Avaloc suggested a "War Crown" and got R&Ded sometime later...are we traveling...
