"Halfswording is legal in which Kingdoms? " NONE "Why is or isn't it legal? What are the reasons or rational behind the decisions?" Half-swording is an experimental technique being reviewed by the SEM. At this point, the various kingdoms are (or are not) testing to provide data to the SEM. "Why isn...

Can you post copies (and links please!) of Samurai Armour LH

Howdy, Can you please post copies (and links please!) of Samurai Armour Living History? I know there is a event north of Tokyo that we’ll be at, and I’ll get video of the event if somebody wants it. Uesugi Matsuri is one of several festivals in Japan which celebrates historic samurai h...

If you have a more specific time frame, that would really help! In Caid, the Barony of Nordwache hosts the Treasure Chest War on the weekend of April 22nd in Fresno - about 125 mi, if memory serves. It's a small war, but a lot of fun. I'm sure there must be a West Kingdom event that will serve, but...

[SCA] War/Melee in Summer near Los Alos, CA?

Howdy, My children, wife and I will be taking some vacation time during the summer to my ancestral home(s) in Los Altos, California. Does anyone know of a good one-two day event within 100 miles of Los Altos, CA…that has a Grand Melee or even…dare I ask…a SCA War? If worse comes to...

Halfswording is legal in which Kingdoms?

Why is or isn't it legal? What are the reasons or rational behind the decisions?

Why isn't halfswording legal SCA wide?

Brenus,

I know John Keller was in a bad way as far as his marriage goes, and that was over four years ago.

I think it's a common theme to enjoy pounding metal if your life will soon go in the crapper... Maybe it's a sign or symptom of deterioration.

My wife may be able to get a hold of some nearly-full-sized patterns if you wish. You may want to cut, harden and shape the leather and let the client do the lacing. In fact, that might be a GREAT sideline... If you had the patterns, you could cut, drill, shape and harden the leather, and sell the "...
