What we DON'T need is yet ANOTHER watering down of the rules because fighters are too dumb to run with scissors. Ouch! I'd quit and take up needle-point on the side-lines before I'm the cause of THAT! I'd rather be R&D then add a rule with my name on it! That shame is eternal! I'll get back to bein...

Would you trust your goret enough to calibrate on it?
Would you trust your goret enough to calibrate on it?
I wish I could get this one as a poll.
I'm not being insulting (I hope), I'm just curious.
Do you trust your throat protection?
For a light blow?
For a reasonable blow?
For a push?
For an excessive blow?

sliding a haft down the neck until the slide includes the blade is not a killing blow. no matter how sharp your blade is you can't saw through mail in a single move. You can hack through it, but you can't place your blade agains mail and slice it like it was silk. . No, you can't slice it like silk...

"My problem is that with my haft, I can deliver a leathal blow, given our standard armour, but it's not sporting." If you mean SCA armour standard you can't deliver a lethal blow with the haft since it's not a striking surface. If your in to close to use your pole arm drw your dagger, or steal his,...

My problem is that with my haft, I can deliver a leathal blow, given our standard armour, but it's not sporting. My sword and shield opponent can deliver a telling blow, given our armour standard, in the clinch, and it is sporting. Help? Honest, I care deeply about honor as any who have fought me kn...

Thank you for the advice and updates. It was very frustrating being in the clinch, having the quite possible, quite period correct technique available...and having to extricate myself out of the clinch and go back into range. There has GOT to be something I can do in the clinch with a polearm. I'm N...

Howdy, Point for my argument: Blows must be delivered with effective technique for the particular type of weapon used, and must strike properly oriented and with sufficient force, to be considered an effective, or good, blow. 1. An effective blow to the head, neck , or torso shall be judged fatal or...

Fought most of the weekend, after a Friday PT test. I sweat a lot. I learned a lot from Lord Noe, and I expect that he will be my mentor from here on in. He fights my style (and almost nobody does). He's interested in authenticity. He's 100% non-judgemental, and always encouraging without toning dow...

Can you hit someone with the haft when in the "clinch&q
Howdy, Can you hit someone with the haft when in the "clinch"? I've had times recently where I've closed the distance with my glaive, and were now definately in each other's personal space, face-plate to grill so to speak. I know the human body moves quite quickly when you apply force to the distil ...

Howdy, And, we'll be getting a copy of our Baronial Tournament on DVD! Brian, I'm willing to bet Andre is focusing on those pictures you posted and thinking of ways to improve the armour without reducing his turn-around time and customer service. I'm a satisfied customer of Andre's. 1. Andre cares about his customer, long after the check has cleared. He remembers you, ...
