Ouch...this was my best shot at authenticity, and easy-to-maintain SCA suit.

That was my very best shot, and it isn't even close to good?

Bummer...

Try lamellar armour from White Mountain or GAA armoury. My 3 and 7 year old children are making their own armour from those scales. We bought 1000 lamellar "scales" from White Mountain Armoury for $450 (including shipping). Our children are spending evenings "threading" their armour together. You co...

I dont think I've ever seen that many faulds and so big before. Is there an antique suit you are basing it on? Some parts look 15th c. Others look 13th. Others I'm just not sure what. In the "History" montage, I was basing the 3rd suit off of the Chamberlain of Burgandy's Suit (also on my web-site)...

What time period and location am I playing?

Howdy Everyone!

From the photos, what time period and location do you think I'm playing?

Look for the "First Fighter Practice in New Suit" album.

I think I have too much padding on my glaive. It's a piece of rattan with a two inch thick pool noodle taped around it (two inches of padding on either side).

I've thought about that as a casting medium, but how do you remove it once it hardens? Do you have one of those cast saws too? Believe it or not, but I've used an old pair of sweats, or an old T-shirt and wrapped the stuff on. You don't really want it on your skin if possible. The extra layer of cl...

Some light, shiny leather might do the trick, and only add a couple of pounds to the helm, and remove that "ringing sound" when people hit you.

Glue, bronze "belt" rivetts, a couple of hours with a drill and hammer and you'd be in business!

Howdy, I've used casting tape (a nurse suggested this one to me onetime), and I've been able to make 3D casts of legs, arms, chest, etc... I would like everyone to consider this option. It might be especially useful for working with forming leather (as you could form it EXACTLY to the clients body s...

The crest is steel too -- it'll take a good beating.

The helm weighs in at 12 pounds, which is comparable to helms I've held for Dukes before. It's heavy, and should reduce possible injuries (and still look "smashing").

No.... The Chinese have found the Armour Archive, and are busy using our patterns to mass produce SCA armour in steel.
