The "Spainish" suit? I had my questions too, but it looked like it really did articulate (but was a reproduction).

I may be wrong but IIRC Turnbull recently toured all the Korean museums and couldn't find a single piece of armour that could be identified as "Korean" (I assume he meant that all the armour he saw was either non-authentic reconstrctions or imported, rather than originating in Korea). If this is th...

Yep, this was the one in Seoul. I'll go back possibly next week. Does anyone need shots of anything? The "Officer's Mercurial Armour" was from 1492 AD, and they said that it was treated with mercury!! I heard this SEVERAL times!! I find this REALLY hard to believe...can you help explain it to me? Another very reliable armourer is White Mountain Armoury. In three weeks we had a 1000 lamelle for my children and leftovers for starting a loaner suit. It was 35 pounds, and in a box about 10 inches by 10 inches, packed TIGHT! I looked at it and thought, "One Suit of Armour, Some Assembly Required"...

OK. There are still a few of us that have NEVER let anyone down. I have never heard anything bad about Mandrake or Red Falcon as far as delivery and customer service. I know that I would personally rather loose my left testicle, than have my armory's reputation loose a bit of our client's trust. An...

Noe, The reason for the pavisis was that at the An-Tir / West War I noticed that there were several wheelchair bound personnel that could never really participate, but wanted to. Noe, Nice rules! How about a pavise instead of a banner for stationary archers? If the Archer painted his heraldry on the pavise, and had a "Skull-and-Cross-Bones" or just black flag on the other side, they could be declared "dead" if a fighter hits their pavise, then they flip the flag over so ever...

I'm getting close to what I want, for now. Who knows...someday. Right now, I've got the helm and goret to go. It ...

He's most likely tied up in the aftermath of Pennsic, and is cleaning up the shop or sleeping. Pennsic season is rather a busy time for him.

This is Aaron's wife. I'm looking for a Japanese style helm. I've seen the one that Truehearth Armouries has on site and it's not the style I'm looking for. I'm taking a class here in Odawara and we're using Bontex. The style of helm we're making is very different. m I'm looking for one pre-made and...

What would the effect be of full-body target SCA fighting?

Howdy, If we let full-body target SCA fighting, and limited body-body contact, and conditions (three points of contact on the ground and/or ten good strikes received = done), what would the effect be? What armour would you consider, as a Marshall, at a minimum to protect the combantants and the SCA ...

Trouble is, the only way Hush and I could participate together would be if she portrayed a Southern woman of quality, and I portray her valet... Sounds like a half-decent romance novel.... I think Hush would complain if you were barechested on novel covers in the hands of women across the USA. -Aaron

How do you point a gambeson (specifics)?

Howdy, I’ve tried again and again to point my gambeson, and I always end up with one of two problems: 1. The steel doesn’t cover the elbow point enough, but the movement is fine. 2. The steel covers the elbow point, but I can’t seem to bring my arm to less than a 90 degree angle...
