Effingham-san, When you have the volume bound (with color pictures and patterns), how much would it cost? $100? Less than $100? More? Would you consider an electronic version (on CD)? For what you have on your site now, I'd shell out $100 for a CD of it, with paper patterns included. -Aaron

Effingham, Thanks for the website, it rocks. I just got rather lost in it... This is completely my fault may I add! Just like Brian Price's great book, it's incredibly detialed and everything that anyone could ever want (AND FREE TO BOOT!!), done in such a way that there is no confusion even with th...

The ones in your pictures are particularly nice ones. I was impressed too. Who in particular would I talk to, in Japan, about making samuri-looking armour (SCA legal...)? Given this opprotunity and generous offer of advice and help, I took her up on her offer quickly. It seemed she knew more than I...

I'm not sure if the suit would stand up well under SCA heavy combat, but once I'm done with mine, I'm willing to give it a couple of shots.

Got on yahoo!!! Yahoo!! Here is the link, and I've set it to public: m The basic piece is shown, and it's paper. But it doesn't look like paper from the brown side, and it doesn't feel like paper...and after it's laminated it certainly doesn't look like paper. I'll post the lady's website tomorrow. ...

Effingham, I've now seen the armour in question, and compared it to the Samuri armour in Odaku castle, and it is comparable (I didn't see any glaring differences...or for that matter differences). Please note, my eye is untrained and my optimism is boundless. I could not photograph the armour in the...

The Sensei says: Jinbaori was worn by only the leader. It was a "leader's vest" made out of silk, and very ornate. It was not worn by lesser ranks. The shikoro didn't get in the way. Effingham, Sorry. I've seen the stuff. Do not use those patterns for real armour. That is abomination. Why? 1. Go to the library and find out what nationality, time-period and style of armour you wish to make. This may take years… The Armour from the Battle of Wisby is a good review reference to look at. 2. Ask everyone's opinion (here, Living History, SCA, boffer weapon fighters, local museums, etc...

Has anyone made a SCA legal pole-axe?

Good Morning,

Has anyone made a SCA legal pole-axe?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I'm really bad fighting from my knees. If I have to fight from my knees, I've got almost a 100% chance of taking the next shot right on top of the helm.
