What is the little "wind-up" wheel behind a close helm for?

I've got a beginner's question. What is the little "wind-up" wheel behind a close helm for? You know, the little wheel behind the english close helm shown here by that truly wonderful person, Craig Nadler: http://www.eskimo.com/~cwn/close.html The second set of pictures don't show it, so it must not...

I haven't seen the pictures yet of the helm halves and the Sword Cross-Gaurd. Considering your low (current) prices, I am exceptionally interested in the helm halves (welded) and sword cross-guard.

Could you post the pictures?

Thank you,

My pell is my son's tire swing. Really. First, start it moving is a spinning arc. Now, hit it! You will change it's arc when you hit it, and it will spin at you in a random direction. I'm not sure how well this works with comparing to combat, but I really "feel" when my shots are "good" or "light".

Historically, 18 ga is close. For the breastplate it may be as high as 14 ga (16 ga is more likely). The helm would be 14 ga to 16 ga.

As Accidntprone mentioned, I'm a short distance away from a Harbor Freight store. The problem is that the Harbor Freight on-line business, and the physical store business are two seperate entities. I'll call the shop up and see if they have the blades. If not, they can order them and I could ship th...

Also, I would like to know WHY you are selling such a beautiful suit. A simple no-comment would suffice, but just the story behind such a suit would be nice to hear.

For example, who made it?

PS; Save your pictures for nostalga, please. Those are some good shots.

Get a DVD player.

For example, I can see "A Knight's Tale" in French (subtitles and dubbed!).

Then, look for the languages on the DVD and you can watch all your movies in French!

If they try to break the spear, keep pushing forward...when it breaks into splinters, it will shove right through their plastic or bargrill...and after they are medically taken care of, you will find that a new rule about grabbing spears will be in place. The price of steel in WAY down. The upside of this is that sport fighters now have no "I'm poor" excuse. If you wear plastic (other than a cup or breast protection), you ARE a sports fighter.
