Re: Auction: Atlantian Sweat Lodge (Dayshade)
BTW, if someone can drive to within two hours of Ft. Meade, that counts too. I'd just like to limit the driving time to two hours, one way if possible.

Re: Auction: Pile of SCA Weapons
It would be nice, but the auction is already up and I'd like to let it run it's course. Now if can drive to within two hours of Fort Mead, MD, we can make the exchange there....

Re: Auction: Franciscan Stoneware
If I shipped, I fear they would be dust. :( We've been blessed so far, but I truly am concerned about shipping. And there is just the logistics hassle. Somebody within the two hour drive (or can drive to a location two hours from Ft. Meade) will get some good dishes IMO, but they are NOT toddler pro...

Re: Auction: Atlantian Sweat Lodge (Dayshade)
I will give a $75.00 William Cool! Where are you located (so I can figure in travel time)? The auction isn't over yet, but the post Pennsic lull might be a time when there isn't enough money around to purchase much of anything, and you might be the high bid even after two weeks when the auction clo...

Understood.
The logistics of packing up all this stuff and shipping it just gives me the hebbie-gebbies. So yes, my demographic might be limited, but I think I save a lot of hassle and frustration.

Re: Auction: Franciscan Stoneware
$100 would be excellent!
BTW, by the time this auction is done, I can easily see that other stuff I need to get rid of may show up during the unpacking, and end up being freebies.
What city are you located in?

Re: Auction: Atlantian Sweat Lodge (Dayshade)
Aaron, a considerable number of people within your 2-hour distance are still recovering from Pennsic. The Pennsic storms wrecked some pop-up dayshades, so you may have some bids from people looking to replace their stuff. Yeah!!! BTW, this dayshade can weather the storms easily. There are three rop...

It's the lot that is being auctioned, no per item. You win it all, if the bid is high enough.

Re: Auction: Atlantian Sweat Lodge (Dayshade)
True. I made a flub.
BTW, no local bids? I'd accept a bid of $5 to get this stuff out of my AO for the next move. I hate moving, but it's part of the job I do.

Re: Auction: Franciscan Stoneware
You sure? Hell yeah! Opening at $50 then. BTW, you are the top bid on all three threads. Nobody has bid on the other threads yet. Well, Pattern Weld asked about the Atlantian Sweat Dayshade, but he's WAY out of the 2 hour drive requirement. So if this keeps up, for $50 you get: Feast gear for ten D...

Re: Auction: Pile of SCA Weapons
Her sister is 11 years old, and I KNOW I'm in for trouble. When Helena (the toddler) was born I told her to be careful about boys right when she was being cleaned up after delivery. I knew there was no time to waste and it's best to brief the daughters on the dangers of boys ASAP, and one minute aft...

We are getting hammered by rain this evening. Time to see how well the dayshade held up standing in the sandy ground in our backyard. It's like trying to set up on a beach.

You are correct, I was wrong. I must say I'm shocked. I always thought parsel post was for written material. Excellent correction and the addition of the website made it very clear I was wrong. Still, I will not ship but only deliver in person. And Caid is only two hours from Atlantia if my wife is ...

Re: Auction: Atlantian Sweat Lodge (Dayshade)
Bet ya it'd fold up into a cardboard box from home depot and cost less than $50 to ship parcel post. Parcel post is for books and other written material only. I like saving money, but I do not like breaking the law. I know that you made a typo on that post and typed out "parcel post" instead of "th...

Re: Auction: Atlantian Sweat Lodge (Dayshade)
Ah, it gets crammed into a six foot by three foot plastic tote for moving military equipment around. The dayshade is made of some tough synthetic material. I think it's ~60 lbs for just the shade itself, but that's a SWAG.

Hi, The Franciscan Stoneware was something my wife and I bought way back in 2000 AD, and we’ve used it ONCE at an SCA event (going away party in Japan). Franciscan Stoneware 1.jpg Each move brings another smashed dish or goblet, and we also have a Helena who is going through that “smash everything w...
