Zen Warrior Bascinet
The Zen Warrior bascinet is a very attractive price for stainless, but has anyone used one or know anyone who has. There's no sizing information at all about the helms on their site and not even a S-M-L option when you add it to your shopping cart. For a rattan combat helm one size definitely does n...

Lots of female fighters have Eastern personas, too, so you might want think about having a 'stock' cuff decoration pattern for all the dangerous and beautiful Turks, Saracens and Mongols out there. In my other historic life I’m a member of a unit that recreates the Coldstream Guards from the era of the American Revolution, so whitened leather is something with which I’ve become all too familiar over the years. (And it’s also why I dislike white latigo, but its benefits and shortcomings h...

measurements
OK, so I was way too slow out of the gate on this one. A newbie question, though. What's basic math for factoring in the required .75" of padding to your brow measurement for when vendors give you the internal circumference of an unpadded helmet vs. saying "this will fit a twenty-something...

thanks for the input, keep it coming
Comrades, Thanks for the flood of info, it is much appreciated by a n00b attempting to not buy the wrong gear. The leather seems to be getting a lukewarm response... Bokolo has just introduced a Wisby brig/CoP that's my other top choice. Done with kydex plates it's incredibly light. Or a Churburg/gl...

Schmitthenner's Leather Armor
Esteemed comrades, I’m putting together my first SCA fighting rig and would like to take advantage of the forum’s collective wisdom. I’m attempting to decide on torso armor that will be light enough to practice in, sturdy and presentable enough for war/tourney and won’t require that I pawn t...

Brigandines
Llewelyn,
Out of curiosity, how much would one of the front-buckling brigandines go for? And what's their approximate weight?
many thanks,
Tancred

Audax, As a new fighter still kitting out, I'm following this thread with great interest. I've got leg, arms and shoulders taken care of but have been particularly interested in finding a light-weight brigandine done with either kydex/ABS or aluminum. What brig design are you using and can you give ...

weight of sale brigandines?
How much does the green, dagged brigandine (Sale-14) weigh? Is that also in the 15 kg range like the other Wisby model mentioned? Or is it (hopefully) a little lighter?
